"Your Story Is Worth Telling" Campaign

A storytelling campaign honoring the voices of LGBTQ+

In celebration of Older Americans Month and National Honor Our LGBT Elders Day, we’re proud to launch Your Story Is Worth Telling — a community-based campaign to uplift, preserve, and share the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ older adults.

For generations, LGBTQ+ have shaped movements, created chosen families, and lived through incredible resilience. These stories deserve to be heard.

How it works

Starting May 16th, 2025, we'll release a new storytelling prompt every Friday throughout the summer. Each prompt is designed to spark reflection, connection, and celebrate queer life and history. You're invited to respond, however you feel comfortable, (named or anonymous) through writing, audio recording, or photos. With your consent, these stories may be featured in social media spotlights, printed publications, community events, or digital archive.
