This session explores the emotional and practical realities of aging and life transitions within the LGBTQ+ community, addressing the fears and questions that often go unspoken. Through the work of Chic Flips Home Transitions, co-owners Devon and Ashley Burkhart support individuals navigating downsizing, housing decisions, and legacy planning while protecting identity, independence, and belonging. Devon will share practical insights and a compassionate framework for becoming “legacy-ready,” helping attendees approach future decisions with clarity and confidence.

Most of us intuitively reach for music in hard times— whether it's listening to a favorite song to remember happy memories, or putting on a soothing instrumental to fall asleep, we've all experienced the power of music to change our mood and influence our nervous systems. Board Certified Music Therapist Catherine Backus, MT-BC will explain the "why" of music's effectiveness, and share several techniques to utilize music to support relaxation, emotional regulation, and connection with others.

Whether part of a religious community or not, we all have spiritual selves and spiritual needs. Aging invites us to the spiritual practices of holding on and letting go. As LGBTQ+ folks, what experiences and stories do we want to hold on to and make visible as we age? And how do we prepare to let go gracefully, right up until the end?
